Partnership with St. Scholastica Academy of Covington, LA
The Mater Dei Community has helped people all over the world through their Lenten collection for many years. Most recently, the MD Community began a partnership with St. Scholastica Academy of Covington, LA. The two joined forces shortly after Hurricane Katrina and groups of Mater Dei students, faculty and parents visited the area during the Easter Breaks of 2006 and 2007. Last year, MD teamed with Rotary International and Fr. Randall Villalobos, of Jesus of Nazareth Parish near San Jose, Costa Rica.

Fr. Villalobos' ministry is with street children and the poor. Students and faculty vested him and his parish during last year's Easter Break where they delivered donations of books and school supplies in addition to the funds raised on campus through the Lenten collection. In continuing the tradition of outreach, the MD Community is currently looking to Look in, Reach Out, and Rise Up during this Lenten Season by giving to the children of the world-through the Holy Childhood Association.
