2024-2025 ASB Applications for Current Students

 The ASB application process for the 2024 – 2025 school year is now underway. 

 

Applications for ASB Officers are due Tuesday, January 30, 2023 by 3:00 PM - NO EXCEPTIONS

PICK UP AN APPLICATION FROM THE ACTIVITIES OFFICE

All applicants must commit to the following:

  • Attend ASB Camp June 12-15, 2024 – Lake Arrowhead (ASB Officers assist in leading the camp by preparing a day before the rest of ASB arrives at the venue and presenting material throughout the event).
  • If elected, you will be responsible to serve your school and prioritize your responsibilities in order to do so. You will be expected to put this position before other responsibilities, commitments, and extra-curricular activities. Being an ASB Officer is not a job to be taken lightly as it requires a great amount of dedication, sacrifice, and time. You must complete projects and proposals, organize and execute events with other ASB Commissions, organize and run various spirit weeks throughout the year.
  • If elected, you will be expected to attend numerous school events which include; but are not limited to, awards ceremonies, back to school nights, 8th grade information nights, 8th grade welcome nights, all orientation and Freshman welcome dates in August, CIF and Performing Arts events.
  • If elected, you will be enrolled in the Leadership Class.
  • Wear the Mater Dei uniform correctly at all times.
  • Lead by example and always strive to make Mater Dei High School the best that it can be.
 

All candidates understand the following:

      • All candidates are REQUIRED to attend the candidate information meeting on February 1
      • All voting will be done on-line via 5-Star Students.
      • Total campaign costs shall not exceed $100 (this includes donated items).
      • Campaign videos will be speeches that are video taped in Monarch Television.
      • You will speak in front of a panel consisting of Mater Dei Faculty and Staff members as well as some of your peers.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR ASB OFFICER CANDIDATES

    • January 24 - 30 - Applications available online and are due by 3:00pm on January 30 to the Activities Office.
    • February 1 - Meeting for ALL candidates to go over election process in the Activities Office.
    • February 2 - 8 - Candidates will make an appointment with Mr. Roberts in the Monarch Television studio to record their campaign speech that will be aired. This is your responsibility. 
    • February 11 - ASB Officer Campaigning Posters & Fliers can be hung 
    • February 12 - 16 - Monarch TV airs ASB candidate videos and voting will take place on February 16
    • February 16 - Voting results announced to all candidates at 2:15 PM in the Activities Office
    • February 16  - All campaign materials and tape must be taken down by 3:00 PM - NO EXCEPTIONS!
    • February 20 - Panel interviews will take place
    • February 21 - ASB Officers announced to school during morning announcements
    • April 26 - If accepted, registration opens for registration and camp fees.
    • May 5 - ASB Paperwork and camp fees will be due

  • February 28 - Class Officer Candidate Information Meeting – both lunches in the Activities Office.
  • March 11-15 - Candidates will make an appointment with Mr. Roberts in the Monarch Television studio to record their campaign speech that will be aired. This is your responsibility.

  • March 18 - 22 - Monarch TV airs ASB candidate videos and voting will take place on March 15
  • March 22 - Voting results announced to all candidates at 2:15 PM in the Activities Office

  • March 25 - Panel interviews will take place
  • March 26 - Class Officers announced to school during morning announcements
  • April 26 - If accepted, registration opens for registration and camp fees.
  • May 5 - ASB Paperwork and camp fees will be due

All applicants must commit to the following:

  1. Attend ASB Camp June 13-15, 2024 – Lake Arrowhead (You will be organizing and planning on what you would like to see happen in the 24-25 school year).
  2. If elected, you will be responsible to serve your school and prioritize your responsibilities in order to do so. You will be expected to prioritize this position manage your other responsibilities, commitments, and extra-curricular activities. 
  3. Wear the Mater Dei uniform correctly at all times.
  4. Lead by example and always strive to make Mater Dei High School the best that it can be.

IMPORTANT DATES FOR ASB COMMISSIONER APPLICANTS

 

  • March 22 to March 27 - Applications are available online and due by 11:59pm on Wednesday, March 27.
  • April 8 Interview appointment times will be emailed to applicants via their Mater Dei email address
  • April 11 to April 19 - Commissioner interviews will be taking place
  • April 24 - Final ASB Commissioner selections will be communicated through email
  • April 26 - If accepted, registration opens for registration and camp fees.
  • May 5 - ASB Paperwork and camp fees will be due
