About
Dr. Sixta graduated from Mater Dei in 2009. After high school Dr. Sixta went to college right down the street from his parents’ house. At Santiago Canyon College he fell in love with Philosophy studying under Mr. Pimentel and Dr. Deaver. From community college he continued his study of Philosophy at California State University Fullerton. There he found a passion for religion taking every class he could. Studying topics like apocalypticism, religious theory, and yoga, Dr. Sixta discovered he wanted to continue education at the graduate level. After a brief hiatus away from school to study yoga, Dr. Sixta completed his graduate degree at California State University Long Beach. Soon after he joined the Religious Studies Department at his alma mater, Mater Dei. Unfinished with education Dr. Sixta began doctoral school at Long Beach which he finished this past spring. Dr Sixta’s research focuses on the relationships that teachers and students have with each other and how trust is involved in that relationship. Besides school Dr. Sixta enjoys playing Elden Ring, reading, and hanging out with his two cat roommates, Tofu and Nora.


What I Love About MD
I love the freedom I and my students have in the classroom to talk about real life issues without a sense of judgment. The four walls I and my students share are the greatest gift anyone could ask for.
