all right I see some of you guys jumping and thank you so much hurry up to 10 people that's awesome since we are pretty much right on time we're going to go ahead and get started in respect for everybody's time so those of you who are on thank you so much my name is Miss Kelly and I work in the alumni and advancement office and the reason you have me as part of this career day fun and presentation is because Madison is an alarm she's a 2004 graduate of modern-day super student who went on to LMU and also got her Master's at USC or cracks are you finishing that up or just finished I finish in next week okay so when you address a question please address that to Master Madison master so we're super blessed to have her here with us today she is a superstar engineer for the Aerospace Corp and I don't want to miss speak on anything she has accomplished or does daily so I'm going to let her take over and explain to you guys what she does specifically in the meantime you will know there's a she would a bar feel free to pop any questions in there and we'll keep an eye on that and get those questions answered either throughout the presentation if it pertains directly to the topic or we'll come back at the end certainly make sure all of your questions are answered so again thank you guys for logging in and Madison thank you so much for being here and I'll let you go ahead and take over and see my screen okay Attica good awesome I can't hi everyone I have I have done this once before but you know I was in front of the class so we're going to give this virtual virtual Triad go so my name is Madison puchalski and a little bit about me so not doesn't for Wichita 7:14 so I'm a little bit of a 10-year Gap there so I I did graduate from Mater Dei in 2014 a little bit about what I did while I was there so I was on the golf team for 4 your sided ASB my senior year I was on the robotics team or in the in the club and then I was on mdtv kind of my my zero block getting up early modern day you know I'll be play it prepared me well enough decided next step is college I applied and got into Loyola Marymount University where I went for 4 years up until 2018 I got my bachelor's in science mechanical engineering and one of the bigger curricular extracurricular activities I did there was the SAE Aero Design West competition and basically that's the Society of Automotive engineers and we created that I did it for two years on RC airplanes remote controlled airplane two different ones for regular and advanced class different competition criteria the first year we were just flying an airplane for the advanced year we had to drop a humanitarian effort payload on to it in the middle of the field so those are things you know the regular gear I did that on my own spare time before my senior year I did use that as my senior year project Capstone and then after LMU I decided I wanted to go to grad it's cool so I decided to attend the University of Southern California and I am getting my masters in engineering and mechanical engineering and I actually am I finals next Friday is after that I am done I'll be I'll be going into a little bit of each of at the moment there's no questions on that initial I will skip forward so a little bit about my undergraduate Journey at LMU so when I applied so I was just you know in your guys's shoes I was applying to college and I decided that I wanted to be a general engineering applicant I didn't know specifically which engineering I wanted to do and a lot of colleges have this it's completely okay to not know which one you want to do what colleges have Civil War Structural Engineering Bridges building mechanical engineering such as what I do which is more of the focus on thermal propulsion and then you have their electrical engineers who do all that awesome circuitry Orting computer coding computer science as well which is kind of tied into electrical engineering and then a lot of schools have Aerospace LMU did not have aerospace engineering so I did I didn't go that route but mechanical engineering is so while I did my studies for three of those years I believe it was my sophomore Junior and Senior year at LMU I was a teaching assistant for various professors focusing in Material Science and then somewhere in exo those of you who aren't sure what either are some Material Sciences focusing on the material properties of metals so I did some research with stainless steel I think it was 13 V stainless steel for Sargent Aerospace and testing out the material properties getting different samples and basically you know we were doing all the testing for the company making sure that we had consistent failures where we wanted to see failures and everything succeeded where we them to succeed and then my other research opportunity which kind of brought me in my my next position here at Aerospace was actually I did some 3D printing at LMU and that back that's what opened up doors for me so I kind jump around and you'll see that a lot so post sophomore year at LMU I actually interned at Moog aircraft in Torrance and I did a lot of work with product engineering so when you go to the manufacturing the manufacturers and the people who are building those technicians they have a sheet of codes and lines that they have to go through to build consistent products every time and I was building things such as horizontal stabilizer trim actuator your box is supposed the things on the airplanes in the rear which make your plane go up and down so they're very very important parts and so I was looking at the process for building these things how to make the more efficient where there are typically fail here's how we can fix that in the long run and I didn't have any background in product engineering and you'll find that is a common Trend in a lot of things that I've been doing is I I didn't know what I was getting into I just wanted to try it also I said yeah it's a lot of opportunities and then going into my post junior year I decided I didn't want to do an internship at Moog they offered me to come back I didn't want to do that anymore so I picked up a research opportunity at the University of South so something a lot of people may not realize it's not always focused on internships there are a lot of research positions at other universities over the summer with pay extremely well they put you up in houses you can choose it you can sleep in the dorm and yeah I guess that they pay you very well to do research for them I was looking into 3D printing and Tennis that idea was that when you are on the battlefield and you were out in the look nowhere and your antenna system your walkie-talkie breaks and you can't talk to anybody so okay well what do you do you know obviously maybe you don't have that supply of extras and you just need an extra end how to fix that so what you can do is you can input the specs of the antenna that you need into your computer and you can 3D print this replacement antenna with a cracked attachment so it's something that's it's really cool people are looking into the hole plug and play architecture where one product has one part that fail how can we quickly and rapidly replace that one part and keep us going forward so I did a lot of research on that like I said I was all over the place has no wrong decision here and then I got into my senior year you know I applied for many jobs when I was at LMU and I applied for one graduate school cuz I had always wanted to go to USC and you know a lot of those jobs it's really hard and are kind of get into it later it's it's a lot of who you know it's a lot of networking but I decided to attend the Society of women Engineers National Conference and I can't say enough about National conferences especially the Society of women Engineers what you're good to know men do a 10 and basically you have companies from all around the US every neck of the woods you got mechanical engineering companies you have aerospace companies lawn companies your John Deere goes you have amazing people who are looking to hire you and offer you a job that very day in a lot of people don't know about that and that's something I stresses that you know if you're interested in engineering look into these different Societies or Society of them you're Hispanic Engineers as well I know a lot of people who've gotten jobs up out of that as well and you know you're able to get that face that FaceTime with the people who were in the hiring managers not necessarily the people in HR so it was absolutely fantastic that I went to school in LA and airspace is located play I flew to Austin Texas interviewed got the job I flew back was going about my day today life at LMU and I got into USC as well so I thought okay well what am I going to do here a lot of people work on for a little bit and then they go into grad school lot of people going to grad school right out of their undergrad and I was trying to do both why not I didn't I didn't have really somebody at the time was guiding me and helping me through things but now here I am and I would not have done anything differently I will say that any questions on this life okay we're going to move on to my graduate Journey this is very exciting for me so while I was working full-time I was only doing school part-time and yeah I don't want to drive to USC and back all the time so I'm actually a den student which is their distance engineering Network and so everything is online for me especially with the transition through covid-19 really except for because I live within a certain area from USCIS I would have to go in for my exams if you don't live within a certain area you have to go to a proctoring service but you know with covid-19 you take your exam I'm usually on camera so nothing's really changed and here at USC of taking a lot of classes in systems engineering and my favorite combustion and propulsion renewable energy and so I'm taking one classes roster for spring summer fall so three classes a year it took me about three years to complete I did double up one semester so that I could graduate with everybody and then it's important to know that there is financial assistance available so when you work in the Aerospace field more specifically there a space filled their programs where they will have USB charge Boeing directly for your payment so that that that's very helpful when you're looking for some Financial systems and so I'm going to get into a little bit about what I studied and why I said it is so combust and obviously what is that so that's why you have fuel you have some sort of oxidizer which is you know what you have a rocket engine have a fuel tank of an oxidizer tank usually is hydrazine usually it's in Toews and oxidized you do on their own Mama combust but when combined and ignited you will have that instantaneous combustion which produces thrust through the nozzle so that is what I love can't say that anything real cause me to to want to do this from high school that was just something that I fell into due to my family always being an aerospace it always interests me and then another big thing with combustion propulsion are airplane engines so you can see airplane engine in your upper right and I have taken classes and we've dissected it virtually and so I can say that I know what every single part in that does and that's something I would have never imagined I would have been able to say and I know you know I know a lot of details about this now but that is what I enjoy and that is what kind of my big dream job was I when I put together this presentation I was actually in a different position where I am in now doing these things so it's pretty interesting any questions here quiet Bunch okay professional Journey so I started work as ice set it right out of LMU I had gotten this job at the Aerospace Corporation it's located in El Segundo there other offices and other parts of the country and it's important to note that it is an ffrdc which is a federally funded research and development that's much like JPL is so we we are on a manufacturing Powerhouse we do not manufacture goods and we do not sell them we're Mission Assurance oriented so we're on a lot of launch campaigns for different companies and when issues come up where the people that they bring in to fix those issues so it's really cool that you did not we have all these different customer we're on all these different programs so you can just see a lot of stuff I'm so I started where like I said they gave me the summer off which is nice but when I started I actually started in 3D printing and CAD design so I was the person on the computer designing parts that would be manufactured in 3D printed and she manufactured loosely I said we don't manufacture thing so it was mainly on products simplification for fluids analysis or rockets taking off and you want to see kind of what the air and fluid air is a fluid how it works Around The Rock I would have to simplify the model to make it so that these fluid analysis programs could actually analyze this large rocket simplified so there weren't too many parts and then while I was in this position I was kind of recruited by A co-worker cuz I had interest in working a propulsion and she knew that so I started working on this small satellite Thruster with her at Aerospace it was one of those one-off projects and I can kind of get into that which led me to my Innovation lab rotate and so at a lot of companies if you're in a position and you want to explore different parts of the company will do this rotation programs for you so I spent a year in the rotation for iLab and after that rotation I would have gone back to my previous M3 printing in CAD design instead I decided to apply and I got another job so but I would have gone back and then I'll Abide a lot of project management so I was the person looking at these engineering projects and saying okay well you know let's just move forward with this one let's fun this one you do this projects coming up for everyone's interested so let's see let's accelerate the growth of this project I would have stumbled the team and work with them on kind of finding the right people to get this project out to that was really interesting when it came to the end of it I thought why don't really want to go back to my 3D printing job and I had formed a lot of very good connections do my propulsion work and they said we have an open position and we really think that you should apply so I applied and this is actually March this is my first and a couple weeks later I attend I like. The position so like I said I had to change this PowerPoint but basically my new role is the spacecraft propulsion engineer so rather than Hannah looking at some of the the larger engines that you would see on maybe like a falcon falcon heavy Delta or actually just had a Delta 4 launch out of Vandenberg the other day I can see it from where I was but you know I'm working more on me satellite end of things so the satellites that are constantly orbiting Earth Systems needed for in a re-entry at the end of their life so that there's no space debris or orbit maintenance because as items are circling circling the earth they will slowly degrade in their orbit and I'll slowly want to get pulled kind of back in cities propulsion systems are necessary so that I can maintain its long mission life and satellite GPS satellite so what you see on your phone a lot of that good stuff obviously a lot of that word about the SpaceX satellite Setter going up as well as Starling Stephen along with B. They all have their own propulsion systems as well that's a lot of what I am doing now any questions nope just get questions at the end of world is do that so I thought okay well and this presentation based on last year people had some questions about just working General some things I would have thought about answering so I actually took notes and I got to put it in here so some good thing when you start off as an engineer obviously I'd like to thank you all are interested in engineering there is a very competitive salary starting off so you know you will you will be secure especially in the Aerospace field when you start off with the job you know you you won't have to worry about you know living extra stuff they they make sure you're very comfortable and then when you get into the mechanical engineering world like I said there. industry and then an aerospace there's ffrdc is so do you want to have your self working at mcboing Northrop Grumman those places where you have a product and you have deadlines and you have to push push push or do you want to work somewhere I'd like GPS Aerospace where is very research-oriented a little bit slower pace and you know we are connected with the Air Force Base over in El Segundo so some say it's good enough for government work he heard that a lot we are but we're not we're not a government entity here you know when you get on this path to engineering and you're in your undergrad you have to start thinking about job and then most importantly where you see yourself down the line at PhD or Masters and I will lend my opinion to the fact that I went into my Master's I did not go into my PhD right out of my undergrad I know people who did some people love what they did a lot of people decide that phds are very eccentric to one topic if you don't know if you love that topic you will not want to give five or so years of your life to that topic and it will be very difficult to make yourself wanted enjoy that topic so I don't always recommend that people jump right into a PhD after undergrad I recommend that you figure out more what you like and what you want to do and that's always okay to go for your Masters and get your PhD later that's probably what I'm going to do it's a lot of school but I probably if I had gone straight into a PhD are probably would not have chosen what I'm doing now or what I'm interested in now so some things to think about and then you'll hear a lot of people and you'll see specially on LinkedIn people have the word letters p e at the end of their name that stands for professional engineer and that is a certification process is not typical for mechanical engineers and if you are your own kind of contracted engineering you may be expected to have that but in Aerospace Fields not very calm you'll see this a lot with civil engineers people when you're building codes and they bring in the civil engineers they have to stamp office I have reviewed they have to be Professional Engineers to do that and that is something that like I said I don't know too much about you might know if you had another civil engineer talk to you but basically you have to I do another professional engineer and work with them for certain number of years you have to take an exam afterwards while you to take an exam to get in work with people and then afterwards it's a long process they say it's worth it I would know it doesn't apply to so awesome Aerospace industry general information from last year was like what's the starting salary and I was like that about money but I understand starting right under their looking at between $70 to $100,000 per year that depends on if you have interned with that company a previous summer usually the offer you are if you are a bigger college like down will say a mighty you're an engineer MIT versus an engineer and one of the lower-ranked schools you probably would not be paid as much I think that's all I'll say on that one and let's see so a big need an aerospace field right now and that's kind of what I'm going to start centering on is computer science and programming that is not my area of expertise I don't like sitting on a computer all day like working in the lab and I like burning things and that's why I'm doing what I'm doing but there is always any there's always a need for those programmers you'll find that people who are in programming never have a problem finding jobs never have a problem switching jobs and can move everywhere because any type of company needs computer science and programming so I always recommend people if you have even the slightest interest in that I would pursue a and then Aero Astro engineering electrical and mechanical and civil those are kind of the main options there are some schools think that have like nuclear its Journey you know out there but very very interesting work it's something that is so she like nuclear propulsion it's things that people are actually you know starting to look at I think it's those are kind of kind of has I mentioned earlier you can apply General at most schools are Undeclared engineering and then you have to declare after a year so once you're in there Southern California is kind of an aerospace Hub you'll find a lot of the hubs are Colorado California alabama-florida Barre Centric and Alabama whether I like it or not Huntsville a lot of people are opening up offices to new Spaceport people are talking about opening up Sports in other areas as well you know if you're thinking of a Virgin Galactic the Branson company they have a lot of their stuff out of New Mexico and a lot of those places but you'll find that you know Cape Canaveral terrorism Florida Huntsville Colorado on Colorado Springs in Colorado and then Southern California are the biggest hubs those are the places where you like one of them great if you don't you might be able to find turn off small company you know Boeing has maupas is Washington those kind of things so kind of hit-or-miss but living in California where you live in Southern California Edison you kind of have that plus if you're in there space the time is it in with your guys's ethics and I remember when I was doing a modern-day and looking into all that and I don't really think that I had a I don't even think I sat in on the career panels for engineering I think I sat in on Salem and something else I think it was still a Man and Wasp school so obviously I hate I had no idea what I was doing so where does ethics play a role in Aerospace and its ethics is everywhere I have an Ethics training pretty much every other month Aerospace and special Aerospace information his directly has been something that people have held very tight to themselves so United States we have our partners that we share information with but a lot of the things that you will see from certain companies there are a lot of sensitive document readings I can't really get into a whole lot cuz I didn't want to have this presentation go to Safety and Security but there is sensitive information within companies and there are non-disclosure agreements and Diaz between companies which you can share that sensitive but the ethics of you are now in control of somebody else's sensitive information if you give up the sensitive information it could it could potentially be detrimental to a small startup company in that's that's not something you know if you want on you it's not something your company wants to see in its employees so there's there's a big there's a big load of that I'm sitting on you when you work in Aerospace because you have to be careful and now there's a lot of Safety and Security measures to check the company hand to protect the people that you are working with you know especially at Aerospace we can't work with people who are not born who are the only people who live in and you know she's sharing information there always has to be in India involved and you just have to realize that her bigger things and play than what you're working on but every kind of ties back to that and so it starts with you that's what all the safety people will tell you if he starts with you so everyone who works there either doesn't have a security clearance has a different level of security clearance in it kind of goes up from there and what your security clearance tells you is what level of information you are allowed to obtain and hold them with your security clearance comes training each level as you get higher up has different security and safety measures as to how you are supposed to hold onto documents some areas like the skiff you know you can't have any type of bluetooth smart devices do when you walk into these rooms for meetings you can't have your phone you can't have an iWatch you're separated from the world on that end because that's information that is you know ethically not yours it's somebody else's but you never know what could happen till workers and our trainings they talk about you know if you see something with your co-workers they they're wearing a lot of really nice expensive things you know they're acting a little out of normal normal range of human activity than you you're supposed to say something ethically you were bound to say something and this is not only protecting you but everyone else around you and then coming forth when something happens personally so if you have something serious happens in your life I'm sure you pray a lot of people who have given up Snowden comes to mind giving up government information for personal gain or just because they thought it was right the office people had a your point you can kind of file back to what that person spearpoint was or something similar and they have a list if anything like that kind of happens in your life where you need extra help you need to reach out to your company and say listen like them I wish I had a loss of your loss or I'm going through financial troubles and so that way they can help you and work with you on that like I said if you see something say something you'll see that everywhere when you work in these aerospace companies yeah you're ethically responsible not only yourself but everyone around you and when you're at the Aerospace Corporation we are lucky enough to be joined with the Air Force Base so you will see the men and women in uniform you have to realize that they ethically are there responsible for you they are protecting us and in a way we are ethically responsible for their safety as well so kind of nice kind of scary at times how did Mater Dei prepare me so a modern day I do a lot like I said I was on the golf team I think it was actually Captain because I was in clubs I I did well in school I have a lot going on and through it all I don't know how I did it I excelled in a lot of it not everything but a lot of it and I learned how to multi-task and that's very important for when you get in the college because I you can join a fraternity you can join us for Dad and I didn't do that but there's a lot of clubs and you have to be able to manage all the different classes that you're in and you have to manage most importantly your free time you have to be able to manage the fact you are now responsible for yourself and then you can eat whatever you want you can go wherever you want you know you don't have your parents there anymore and so it's really important to kind of have the ability to multitask and that time management now okay I got to sit down and I have to do this right now or otherwise it's not going to get done in a lot of people do struggle with that when I get in the college but I found that a lot of my friends especially the ones who went to Mater Dei with me I did not have that issue you have to understand your limits as well how was really refined this for me but I didn't realize that I had a breaking point until I went to college and I was just I was doing too much and mental health has definitely been a very big recently after I had graduated but I really saw that surgeons when I was an undergrad but I can't stress it enough because engineering is one of those fields where people have off weeks when they're business school the college syllabus week in business school and Ice Engineers we laughed because first day we start and we didn't the books and we start chapter one so it's it's go go go from the unit business school your teacher can't show up classes canceled for us there's always a backup somebody else is going to step in and keep things going so you have to understand your personal limits when it comes to this cuz not everyone can go go go all the time I took some it'll help days when I was an undergrad I just email my teachers and Subs Wilson like I I just can't do it today and I would just hang out in my dorm and just relax and just kind of get myself back together recharge one of the biggest is that failure is the best learning experience but you don't see it that way in the moment so obviously you hear it all the time I'll get out failures the best thing for Learning and here like yeah so I can say that I have failed a lot of times and those times I have failed I have learned more and then the times that I have succeeded and that it was very painful failures and I was upset in the moment and I didn't want to hear anybody tried to make you know things better and looking back now I realize oh my God I'm better prepared than other people because I have failed so many times be careful must you keep trying well rounded education so when I went to LMU and especially when I work now you know my classes were all centered on engineering I almost had a minor archaeology and I went to Greece for a playwriting class so I'd like to think I'm well-rounded I took a lot of religion classes different history classes and so I did a lot and my public speaking is probably better than some of the introverted Engineers BC I've been told I'm not typically what you think of when you think of an engineer just because I am outgoing and I know how to speak to people I know how to write all of those things so I thought Mater Dei really helped me prepare for that I went to college and people were just sticking to certain classes I disable I want to keep taking this kind of interesting classes that I took when I was at Mater Dei so I continued doesn't Junior high school I just wanted to get out I wasn't thinking about much other than I really like I smile of modern-day but I was just like I'm I'm done I just want something new and so you'll find that we're almost I just kind of let my path establish itself each of my opportunities I I like to tell people when they say what's your Five-Year Plan I said I don't have a five-year plan I have a year plan and I could tell you what I want this year and whatever comes out of that next year when I come up with my new goals they're going to look different last year if somebody had told me hey younger going to be next year I would have said how would I go this past year has built me up and it was just a small amount of time and small experience is added up and did this opportunity I don't know but I mean all I know is that I've been set to do great things song from the start and that yeah I am in control of my future the other people say and now there are external factors yeah that's true but you are in charge of your future you that from the start no matter what I did I was going to be successful and what I did so I really didn't sweat it went with it and so would not pursue engineering if you think it will make you sad cool in you may laugh at me I know people who I studied with freshman year who dropped out end of the first semester second semester going east and dropped us off with her because I just join the engineering club because I thought it was down cool like I want to be an engineer I want to work on Aerospace okay but big picture sounds great but if you don't know what you want to specifically focus on if you don't you don't have that kind of group that you want to fit into extra Dynamics fluids vibrational analysis if you don't want to do coding if you don't want to do stuff like that then maybe look at the business side of the company and stuff like that but don't pursue it and don't put yourself through that that's not what you're passionate about because at the end of the day you need something that's going to keep you going on those really hard days building that work study groups friends clubs all of these things are going to motivate you it's it's a little bit harder and I will say I did talk to some students who has their first year in college and they were going through with all this Cove itself and they they were alone in her classes because they were online and I suggested that they start reaching out to people because that's all you can really do but when you're on campus and you're with these people your failures most likely you know you're not alone in that that hard test you weren't alone and that brings me to colleges difficult engineering is dead but don't let that dissuade you obviously I am where I kind of always thought maybe I wanted to be and I did not do well on quite a few exams and college and I graduated Magna cumlaude a you know from LMU and I'm graduating with honors from UIC and I can say safely I did not do well on a couple of my exams and I looked at that an undergraduate killed me I would I'm so upset but I had a good network of friends and good people who I realized I wasn't alone with and now USC I'm online I am kind of alone I just don't do well on exam I take it as a learning experience okay well obviously this material because it's not so that's what I think about it unpopular opinion like I said you don't need a Five-Year Plan people might hate me for saying that but just said keep an open mind and be open all the different opportunities on kind of the track that you want to be on and I think that you'll be surprised and try your hardest obviously these opportunities. Going to be great if you're not you know giving a hundred I can't remember what my what was LMU has graduation quotes each year but I think mine was long will I know what's easy is seldom excellent and so that if I could leave you with anything it would be that anything which is easy is seldom excellent yeah the last thing I apply for the internships and jobs that you may not feel qualified for especially women so my fiance was the one who persuaded me to apply for this position was my co-workers because I saw the requirements and I said I don't think I'm qualified for this because when people put these requirements for they are looking for an All-Star they're not looking for Hugh I like to think this is especially the case for women my fiance told me that you know men that he sees in the workforce are more willing apply for jobs that are out of bounds for them than women that's sad it's just that I don't think I have anything to say I wish I could say that I applied on my own free will but it took some took some pushing and I got the job and now I look back requirements and I might they they just try to make things sound scary engineering and everything in general they try to make things sound scary but as long as you try hard you're good to go I'm not as my presentation awesome thank you so much Madison at the moment there are not any questions that I was listening to you guys have any questions you'd like to pop in there please go for it about the job market anyting misloaded you have a follow-up survey you wanted these kids to answer afterwards everyone thinks you're being here and thanks for the Fantastic presentation we have a survey at the end of this presentation so when it closes that it will have a link where you can fill out be back on how they went please don't just exist and run away and it looks like you have a couple question all right one what did your courses look like for your undergrad yasso I freshman year like I said you're allowed to go I believe your llm you your first three semesters you're a how to go Undeclared engineering and how that works out is all the engineers take the same classes for the first three semesters just a general building block classes you have General chemistry biology physics General Physics kind of like Newton's laws and then you have electromagnetic physics and I'd like to see their Basics but obviously you have the the math classes that kind of keep going and get extended based on what you learned out of high school I don't think I took any math classes my senior year but they just kind of keep building up some that there are a lot of these colleges have electives and they they spell it out do you smell them down so you can kind of take those electives that you think but a lot of them have writing requirement so I'd like to say basically you start off everyone's taking the same thing same requirements and then you start getting into the specifics once you pick your major the one I chose mechanical engineering that's when I got to take thermodynamics Advanced manufacturing classes 3D printing. I took some classes I wasn't even interested in the classes that you want but you end up learning what you do and don't like and did many of those courses involve Labs did you get to do lab work in undergrad yes so civil engineers have a lot more lab work obviously they work more in the then we do but I had chemistry lab I had a fluid mechanics labs for LMU actually has a large wind tunnel and fluids tunnel Chambers like that 3D printing a society that I took had rooms with 3D printers and them your senior Capstone classes you get to visit College machine shops and work Hands-On with actually building the equipment yourself I do I think yeah and then a lot of it you have a lot of extracurriculars that you can sign up for and you can do like I said I was on the plane team and I was completely on my own free will and I did a lot of out of class lab work for that let me know when all right any last questions to throw in there monarchs right I think we're good you covered a lot I know didn't have you guys have anything to follow up with on this please reach out to miss lower myself and we can reach out to Madison and try and get you more information really really appreciate you taking the time to do this for the kids and thank you search for the amazing
