hello students welcome to the scheduling season for the 2021 to 2022 school year in this presentation you will learn important information regarding the courses you are recommended for and the courses you may select for your junior year important dates and information starting today you will be able to log into your Aerie's Student Portal it to view your course request and to select your elective and religion courses most of you have already been enrolled in English math science social studies and World language courses based on course prerequisites if any of these courses are missing please contact your school counselor if you are recommended for honors and AP courses but wish to drop down to the college prep level please have your parents email your counselor consenting to change in your course request be sure to watch the Aries course entry informational video to learn how to add your electives through your Aerie's Student Portal the video can be found on the counseling web page under the scheduling process for students please be sure to review your recommended courses and select your elective if needed by Friday April 2nd When selecting your elective please be sure to visit our modern-day course catalog to ensure that you meet the prerequisites to qualify for the course number of courses Juniors the minimum amount of courses you can take is 6 courses and the maximum amount of courses you can take is 8 courses please keep in mind that you must have enough credits to graduate with the of course if you still like to take if you have any questions please speak to your school counselor graduation and UC CSU requirements here we list your Mater Dei graduation requirements along with the Ada G admission for UC and Cal State please know that college is highly recommend an additional year of math science and World Language requirements in order to be more competitive in your car options English and social studies students currently enrolled in honors English to that have met the prerequisites to advance to AP English Literature have been placed students world history that have met the prerequisites to advance to honors US History anyone have been placed students that have met the prerequisites to have been placed counselors are still awake social studies placement so do not be alarmed if your schedule is not reflecting honors or AP social studies at this time Math and Science all students have been enrolled in a math and science course if you are concerned about your star signs placement and would like to request a higher placement please complete the appropriate course change request forms if you have any additional questions regarding your math and science placement please contact the appropriate department chair World Language Juniors remember you are encouraged to go beyond the minimum course requirements in order to be more competitive in your college options if you have any additional questions please contact your school counselor if you are current rolled in a level 3 world language course for example literature for Excel for please. Placement form if you are enrolled in a language course would like to request a change please email the world languages department chair mrs. Marsh choir instrumental music students currently enrolled in choir course that have expressed interest to continue with the choral program specific fire placements will be updated after auditions in May students currently enrolled in such as honors Wind Ensemble Jazz Band percussion Orchestra an advanced guitar media production courses if you are not currently enrolled in an instrumental music course but would like to enroll in one next year from the beginning classes available if you have any questions regarding the placement of course please email the director of instrumental music Martinez Visual Arts students main role in a visual art course please refer to our course catalog When selecting a visual art course if you do not meet the course prerequisites for course you still have to take may be removed from the course Athletics some students are enrolled in an athletic block based on Coach approval block but plan to play a sport please select a different elective to complete your course work students may be added to athletic blocks after trials and or with Coach approval peer mentors if you are looking for an elective class that gives you the opportunity to assist students with learning differences pure tutor or two teacher's aide you may be interested in becoming a learning support to your Mentor Mentor will be selected based on academic records and interview an elective credits opportunities for additional service hours internship level experience more information on this opportunity please complete the learning support Mentor interest form dual enrollment we are happy to announce that we are once again offering dual enrollment for the 2021 to 2022 school year horses satisfy MD graduation requirements while bearing College units and transcript Department more information on this is soon to come questions if you have any questions after this visit please be sure to contact your school
