Shadow Program Information

Thank you for your interest in the Mater Dei High School Shadow Program!  This program provides your student the opportunity to see a day in the life of a Monarch.  To sign up for a Shadow Day, please read carefully and follow the instructions below.  We welcome 8th graders and high school transfers to shadow September thru May and 7th graders to shadow January thru May.  This is so 8th graders and transfer students have the opportunity to shadow before the admissions deadline.

The number of Shadows on campus on any given day is limited to 15. Please note that dates fill up very quickly, especially Spirit Rally days!   All Shadow Dates are subject to change.
Please note: The Shadow Program is not to be used just to visit friends for the day. The program is designed for students interested in making Mater Dei their possible high school home. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Step 1.  Please carefully read through all instructions below, then CLICK HERE to access the inquiry form and check the box for “Attend a Shadow Day”. If you wish to sign up for a Rally Shadow Day, please see the special instructions in Step 2.

Step 2.  In the section “What would you most like to learn about during your visit?” please select the subject/activity that your student is MOST interested in. Your selection will determine the available shadow dates for that particular activity/class and will assist us in choosing the student host.

To sign up for a RALLY SHADOW DAY, you must select “RALLY” as your answer to the question “What would you most like to learn about during your visit?” to access the Spirit Rally date options.   The 2021-22 Rally schedule is as follows: 9/1 (Fall Sports Rally), 1/18 (Winter Sports Rally), 2/28 (Performing Arts Showcase) and 3/29 (Spring Sports Rally) *Rally dates subject to change.

Step 3.  If your student knows a Mater Dei student that he/she would like to request as a host for the day, please enter his/her name in the section “Name of Mater Dei Student Host.”  Otherwise, we will select the student host based on the interests you provide on the form.

Step 4.  In the section “Broadening Horizons” check off all additional subjects/activities that your student is interested in so we may learn more about him/her.

CLICK HERE to schedule your Shadow Day.  Once you have filled out the form you will instantly receive a confirmation e-mail that will give you the details of the Shadow Day.  You will receive a reminder e-mail two business days prior to your scheduled Shadow Day with the name of the Mater Dei student host. If you have any questions about the Shadow Program, please e-mail [email protected] or call (714) 754-1175.
