Workshops: Summer 2025
OVERVIEW:
Workshops offer students the opportunity to enhance their learning or prepare for future coursework. Please note that these workshops are NOT credit-bearing courses. Participants do not receive grades, and workshop participation will not be recorded on official transcripts.

Calculus Bootcamp:
June 23-27, 2025 – 1:00PM-4:00PM ($275)
This intensive one-week workshop is designed for students who have already taken Pre-Calculus and want to get a head start in preparing for Calculus. You will explore and reinforce foundational concepts, including critical algebraic, trigonometric, and problem solving skills. Through interactive lessons and guided practice, students will sharpen their mathematical reasoning, and bridge any gaps in their understanding to ensure a smooth transition into higher-level math. Whether you're aiming to review and solidify your Pre-Calc skills or to get a head start in Calc, this hands-on preview will help boost your confidence and set you up for success next year!
  • Open to students taking Calculus (2025-2026 school year)
  • Open to both Mater Dei and visiting students
  • Other Summer School courses not required
 
Chess Masters Workshop:
July 7-11, 2025 – 10:00AM-11:30AM ($180)
Join us for a one-week chess workshop designed to boost strategic thinking and problem-solving skills! Led by a seasoned chess master with over 35 years of experience, this workshop will cover everything from the fundamentals to advanced tactics, including:
- Day 1: Introduction & Fundamental Principles
- Day 2: Tactical Patterns & Calculation
- Day 3: Strategic Concepts
- Day 4: Endgames & Practical Play
- Day 5: Tournament & Review
  • Open to students entering grades 6-12 (2025-2026 school year)
  • Open to both Mater Dei and visiting students
  • All equipment will be provided
  • Other Summer School courses not required
IMPORTANT:
  • Workshops are taken for preparation and enrichment. No grades or credits are given.
  • If unable to attend the Workshop, the Summer School Office must be notified via e-mail at least 48 hours prior to the first day of the Workshop for a full refund. No refunds will be issued after this date.
  • Workshops are subject to cancellation based on enrollment. In the event that a workshop is cancelled, you will be notified and refunded.
  • 2-3 prior to the first day of the Workshop, you will receive an e-mail with the specific room number and other relevant details. Please make sure you include an accurate e-mail address when registering.
