Isaac Cruz ’26 has long been connected to the Mater Dei community and knew that attending the school would give him the opportunity to grow, lead, and excel. During his high school experience, he has embraced a wide range of opportunities to develop as a leader, student, and member of the Monarch family.
A native of Santa Ana, Isaac attended Santiago K-8 Elementary School and is an active parishioner at St. Joseph’s Church in Santa Ana.
Isaac is deeply involved in student life through ASB, Campus Ministry as a Spiritual Leader, Model United Nations (MUN), Mater Dei Television, and the Swim and Dive team. Two programs that have had the greatest impact on his Mater Dei experience are Monarch Television and MUN. Through Monarch Television, Isaac has become a familiar face on the Every Day Show, helping bring campus stories and announcements to life while discovering a passion for storytelling and media that has helped shape his future goals.
Academically, Isaac holds a 4.0 GPA and is proud of earning the Alumni Scholarship Award during his sophomore year.
His service to the school community includes volunteering at Special Games, assisting with the annual entrance exams, and supporting Model United Nations events.
Among his favorite Mater Dei memories are attending football games and participating in Notre Dame Vision with Campus Ministry, experiences that helped strengthen his connection to the Monarch community and his faith.
Isaac describes his Mater Dei experience in one word as life shaping, reflecting the lessons, friendships, and opportunities that have helped guide his path forward.
After graduation, Isaac hopes to attend Chapman University and study film and media.
Outside of school, Isaac enjoys boxing, reading comic books, spending time with friends, and visiting with his grandparents.
