Monarch of the Month: January 2026 - Joseph Woore

For Joseph Woore ’26, Mater Dei has always been part of his story. Inspired by the legacy of his father, Michael ’90, and drawn by the school’s strong commitment to faith, scholarship, and community, Joseph embraced Mater Dei as a place where he could grow into the best version of himself, intellectually, spiritually, and morally.

Joseph attended St. Jeanne de Lestonnac in Tustin before coming to Mater Dei and now shares the Monarch experience with his younger brothers, continuing a meaningful family tradition.

Joseph is deeply involved in ASB, Campus Ministry, Honors Chamber Choir, Model United Nations, Mater Dei Television, the STEM Distinction Program, Entrepreneurship Club, Track and Field, and the MANE Transfer Student Program.

Guided by the values of Honor, Glory, and Love, Joseph strives to do what is right even when unseen, pursue excellence for the good of others, and grow in relationship with Jesus Christ, principles that shape every aspect of his daily life and future aspirations.

Joseph has earned a 3.9 GPA and was honored as a Most Dedicated Singer in the Choral and Vocal Music Program.

His commitment to service is reflected in his Eagle Scout project supporting improvements to Josef's Garden in the Grotto, a meaningful place of reflection honoring Mater Dei’s longtime caretaker and benefactor, Josef D’Heygers, who lived on campus from 1956 until his passing in 2010.

Joseph describes his Mater Dei experience in one word: transformative, capturing the profound academic, spiritual, and personal growth he has encountered throughout his time as a Monarch.

After graduation, Joseph plans to attend the University of San Diego’s Knauss School of Business and pursue a future in hospitality, entrepreneurship, and venture development.
