Monarch of the Month: November 2025 - Catherine Eddy

Rooted in leadership, service, and a genuine heart for others, Catherine Eddy ’26 is a shining example of what it means to live out Mater Dei’s mission every day. A graduate of Saint John the Baptist School in Costa Mesa, Catherine chose Mater Dei for its family like community, one where she immediately felt supported, valued, and inspired to lead.

Catherine is deeply involved in Campus Ministry, serving as a retreat leader and ASB Head Commissioner of Campus Ministry, roles that allow her to guide her peers toward deeper faith and connection. She also plays a major role in the performing arts, serving as Vice President of the Theatre Department and Stage Manager for most productions.

Her teachers describe her as mature, dependable, joyful, and faith filled, qualities that shine whether she is welcoming students at retreats, helping lead prayer, or coordinating behind the scenes in the theatre. When notified that she had been selected as Monarch of the Month, Catherine said she felt excited and super grateful, humbled by the support of her teachers and mentors.

Catherine lives the values of Honor, Glory, and Love with intention, honoring God through her leadership, caring for the people around her, and giving generously of her time. She has completed an extraordinary 845 service hours, dedicating many summers to leading Vacation Bible Camps and Catholic girls camps, as well as serving on numerous school retreats.

Her favorite Mater Dei memory is attending Notre Dame Vision with Campus Ministry, an experience she describes as the most transformative week of her life. She credits Mrs. Leal as one of her most influential mentors, guiding her spiritually and helping her become the best version of herself.

Outside of school, Catherine loves hiking, spending time outdoors, and watching sunsets. After Mater Dei, she plans to study Business Management in college.

One word Catherine uses to describe her Mater Dei experience: Home.
