Balancing two varsity sports while excelling in the classroom, Mason Mejias exemplifies the drive, discipline, and heart of a true Monarch. A standout two-sport athlete in both football and baseball, Mason is known for his leadership, work ethic, and team-first mentality on the field and off. He also gives back through ATAC, Monarch for Marines, Monarch Connections, and MD Special Games.
A graduate of Saint Juliana Falconieri Catholic School and Parish in Fullerton, Mason chose Mater Dei for its strong community and legacy of excellence. His dedication earned him First Honors with a 3.5 GPA and the Ironman Award, recognizing his embodiment of Pride, Poise, and Courage in the weight room.
When he was called to the office and learned he had been named Monarch of the Month, Mason says he was “extremely surprised” but deeply honored. “It means a lot to be recognized by a school and community that has given me so much,” he shared.
For Mason, Honor, Glory, and Love define what it means to be a Monarch: “Honor, Glory, and Love means to be an active representation of God’s image. These values have shaped my faith to see things through the power of God and to know that when you live out your life through Him, everything will work out.”
When asked to describe his Mater Dei experience in one word, Mason didn’t hesitate: Brotherhood.
Through athletics and service, he has learned lessons that reach far beyond competition. With more than 120 hours of service mentoring young athletes, Mason plans to study kinesiology in college while continuing his baseball career, carrying forward the brotherhood and faith that define his Mater Dei journey.
