We are delighted to welcome Fr. Aaron Niño P. Galvizo, AM as Mater Dei High School’s new Chaplain succeeding Father Mark Cruz who is now the Pastor at St. Irenaeus Parish in Cypress.
Fr. Aaron is a priest of the Alagad ni Maria (Disciples of Mary), ordained in 2017 after completing his Bachelor in Sacred Theology at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila. His ministry has taken him from parish life in the Philippines to campus ministry and parish service here in the Diocese of Orange. He also served as Chaplain of Titan Catholic at California State University, Fullerton, where he supported students in their faith journey and built community on campus. Most recently, he served as Associate Pastor at Saint Irenaeus and as local superior of a new formation house for the Disciples of Mary in Iloilo, Philippines.
Fr. Aaron brings with him a passion for working with youth and young adults, offering spiritual direction, retreats, and counseling. His heart for ministry is matched by his joy for music. He loves to sing and experiment with different instruments as well as a love for travel, food, and discovering new cultures.
Fr. Aaron has already jumped right in. Soon after his arrival, he accompanied our students, young adult leaders, and Campus Ministry Team on Walk in Faith #83, held September 14–16. This week he presided over his first all school Mass and did an incredible job.
Reflecting on his new role at Mater Dei, Fr. Aaron shared, “I am truly excited to join the Mater Dei family. It is a blessing to walk alongside our Monarchs, to share in their faith journeys, and to help them encounter Christ in the everyday moments of high school life.”
Please join us in giving a warm Mater Dei welcome to Fr. Aaron! We look forward to seeing him further our vibrant spiritual life that is at the heart of our Monarch community.
