Mater Dei High School is proud to welcome Nicole Wise as the new Head Coach of the Softball program. Wise brings extensive experience as both a coach and a player. She most recently served as an assistant coach at California State University, Chico, and was previously the Associate Head Coach at Cypress College, where she was part of a state championship program and honored as a member of the 2023 CCCAA Coaching Staff of the Year. She has also coached at the high school and travel ball levels and directed national showcase camps.
As a student-athlete, Wise competed for five years at Cypress College and Hope International University, earning multiple conference championships, state and regional titles, and individual honors including All-Conference and Gold Glove recognition.
“We are thrilled to welcome Nicole Wise to the Monarch community,” said Dr. Kenneth Miller, Executive Director of Athletics. “Her championship experience, proven leadership, and passion for developing student-athletes make her an outstanding fit for Mater Dei. We are confident she will carry forward the proud tradition of Monarch Softball, inspiring our young women to compete with passion, integrity, and the values of Honor, Glory, and Love.”
Wise shared her excitement to join the Mater Dei family: “I am honored to lead a program with such a proud history and tradition. I look forward to building strong relationships with the student-athletes, their families, and the Monarch community. Together, we will strive for excellence while creating memories and experiences that extend beyond the diamond.”
Mater Dei High School looks forward to the next chapter of Monarch Softball under Coach Wise’s leadership.
