Dr. Kenneth Miller Named Executive Director of Athletics

Mater Dei High School is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Kenneth Miller as Executive Director of Athletics. With more than 30 years in educational leadership, coaching, and student development, Dr. Miller brings a strong track record of service that will guide Mater Dei’s storied athletic program into a new era that honors tradition while embracing growth. His arrival comes at a pivotal time in the school’s history, as Mater Dei launches its inaugural partnership with Playfly Sports, aimed at elevating fan engagement, media opportunities, and corporate sponsorships. Dr. Miller’s proven leadership and broad expertise in athletics, communications, and community relations will be instrumental in advancing this next chapter of strategic innovation.

In addition to Dr. Miller’s appointment, Mater Dei has promoted Kelly Dullard and Jessica Perry ’01 to serve as directors of athletics. Both are valued leaders of the athletics department, previously serving as associate directors. Perry has been on staff since 2015, and Dullard joined the team in 2017. Their experience and long-standing commitment to our student-athletes will be key in supporting the program’s continued success.

Dr. Miller most recently served as Administrative Director of Educational Services and District Athletic Director for Orange Unified School District, where he oversaw athletic operations, student services, and strategic partnerships. Prior to this, he served as Principal of Villa Park High School, where he led the school to multiple state recognitions and played a key role in shaping a culture of academic and athletic excellence. Throughout his career, Dr. Miller has worked closely with the CIF Southern Section, helping organize and host championship events while supporting schools in navigating compliance, eligibility, and league coordination.

“Dr. Miller is a proven leader who understands the powerful role athletics plays in forming students,” said President Michael Brennan. “His personal faith, depth of knowledge, commitment to student-centered leadership and ability to guide programs, make him the ideal person to lead our student athletes and coaches.”

Dr. Miller shared his enthusiasm about the opportunity, stating, “I am honored to join the Mater Dei community and contribute to its remarkable tradition of excellence. This is a special place where faith, character, and achievement come together. I look forward to supporting our student-athletes and coaches as we move forward together in these exciting and changing times.”
