Mater Dei High School is proud to announce the appointment of Kevin Morton as the new Head Coach of Girls Flag Football. Coach Morton succeeds Coach Josh Goedl, under whom he previously served as Assistant Coach during the program’s first two seasons.
“Coach Morton brings a dynamic blend of leadership, experience, and a passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the field,” said Kevin Kiernan, Director of Athletics. “We are excited to see the continued growth of our Girls Flag Football program under his guidance.”
A former Division I athlete at Fresno State, Coach Morton earned his degree in Kinesiology and has dedicated his career to coaching, mentorship, and athletic development. He is the founder of Orange County Elite Football, a nonprofit organization that has helped hundreds of student-athletes earn scholarships to prestigious universities across the country, including Stanford, Yale, UPenn, USC, UCLA, and more.
Coach Morton’s coaching philosophy is built on four pillars: integrity, service, education, and vision. His commitment to empowering young athletes extends beyond the field through community service projects, international football outreach, and a focus on holistic development.
“I’m honored to lead the Girls Flag Football program at Mater Dei,” said Coach Morton. “Our student-athletes are fierce competitors and inspiring leaders. I look forward to working closely with the administration, parents, and most importantly, our student-athletes as we build what I believe will become the premier girls flag football program in the nation,” Morton said. He also emphasized how the school’s core principles of Honor, Glory, and Love will serve as the program’s guiding compass. “We will pursue honor through integrity, glory through excellence, and demonstrate love through service to one another and our community,” he said.
As Mater Dei continues to lead the way in athletic excellence, the addition of Coach Morton underscores the school’s commitment to growing opportunities for female student-athletes and nurturing Monarchs of character, faith, and excellence.
