Senior Awards & Scholarships

Senior Awards Night is a special convocation held to laud the graduating seniors receiving honors, awards, and scholarships from Mater Dei High School, MD alumni and families, universities, and state and national organizations. Seniors will be recognized for their many special gifts and talents, from academic distinction to athletic excellence, for personal character, dedication to service, and more.

Senior Awards 2019

Date and Time: Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 6:00 pm

Location: LeVecke Center, Mater Dei High School 

All students and their families and guests are welcome to join the celebration. Recipients of honors and scholarships are expected to attend.

Dress Code

For Male Students: Dress slacks, dress shirt, suit jacket/blazer and tie, dress socks/shoes. Earrings and tongue rings are NEVER permitted. Jeans, corduroys, cargo/carpenter and Dickies are NOT permitted.

For Female Students: Dresses, dress pants or pant suits, or skirts with blouses or sweaters and dress shoes. Dickies are not considered dress up slacks.  Mini dresses and spaghetti straps are not permitted. All dresses must conform to Mater Dei dress code standards for modesty. Dresses cannot be more than 3 inches above the knee. Sandals or flip-flops are not permitted.

Students who do not follow the above dress code
will not be allowed to attend the Awards Ceremony.

SUPPORTABILITY FOUR-YEAR COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP

 

Criteria/Requirements

SupportAbility has established the following scholarship criteria:

  • A graduating senior who shows courage by going forward in the face of a permanent physical disability
  • Student who will apply award to a four-year college and graduate
  • Submit an essay of 1500 words or less describing your courageous situation, being specific and giving details pertaining to your own story
  • Submit two (2) letters of recommendation
  • A scheduled interview will follow
Application due date: Friday, March 1st, 2019

JULIE INMAN COURAGE AWARD

 

Criteria/Requirements

The Inman family has established the following scholarship criteria:

  • A graduating senior who shows courage by going forward in the face of adversity and/or life-changing or extraordinary obstacle
  • A student who shows courage and determination over physical and/or learning disabilities, illness of self or a family member, the death of a loved one and/or unusually difficult circumstances at home
  • Student who will apply award to further educational or vocational goals
  • Submit an essay of 1500 words or less describing your courageous situation, being specific and giving details pertaining to your own story

JANE NOEBEL MEMORIAL COURAGE AWARD

 

Criteria/Requirements

The Noebel Family has established the following scholarship criteria:

  • A graduating senior who shows courage by going forward while dealing with cancer or a survivor of cancer
  • Student who will apply award to further educational or vocational goals

Application due date: Monday, April 1st, 2019

MICHAEL MOTHERWAY COURAGE AWARD

 

Criteria/Requirements

The Motherway Family has established the following scholarship criteria:

  • A graduating senior who shows courage by going forward when faced with a life-ending disease and/or diagnosis
  • Student who will apply award to further educational or vocational goals
