Mater Dei Summer School will be offering some credit recovery classes as blended online classes. With the blended classes students will meet face-to-face with the instructor a minimum of 3 days per week with the balance of instruction given online.

Students who wish to enroll in the blended online credit recovery classes must obtain permission from their parent/guardian and counselor, and must register by June 17th, 2019. The blended online classes are geared for students who can work independently and are capable of meeting the online requirements of the class. STUDENTS WHO REGISTER ON OR AFTER THE FIRST DAY OF SUMMER SCHOOL WILL BE PLACED IN A TRADITIONAL COURSE - THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE BLENDED ONLINE COURSE.

Currently, the following credit recovery classes will be offered as blended/hybrid classes:

  • Geometry
  • Algebra 2 / Trig
  • Pre-Calculus
  • Chemistry
  • English III:  American Literature
  • English IV:  British Literature

Though the blended online classes do not meet on campus every day, students are expected to know that they will need to meet on campus during the regular class times on the days the instructor indicates. All students are expected to meet in class, with the instructor, June 17th- 21st, and on July 19th, IN ADDITION to the other days you instructor stipulates. Blended status will be determined after the first week of class. If a student maintains their grade above a threshold set by the instructor, they will be eligible for the blended version of the course and will meet on campus 3 days per week. If a student's grade drops below the threshold, they will move back to the traditional version of the course (meeting 5 days per week). For scheduling, plan on the traditional format of the course (meeting 5 days per week).
