7th Grade HSPT Practice Test and Program

Before you start your admissions journey at Mater Dei, we invite your 7th grader to take the practice HSPT with us. This practice test and preparatory program are designed for current seventh-grade students to enhance their understanding of the High School Placement Test (HSPT) and to help identify areas for growth as they prepare to enter eighth grade. 

Step 1: Students will come to Mater Dei to take the practice HSPT on May 16 at 8:30am. After we receive the tests, parents will be invited back to Mater Dei on Wednesday, May 27 for a review of what the test scores mean with Mrs. Watanabe, our Assistant Principal of Academics. 

Step 2: Students are enrolled in an online HSPT Peterson's Prep program to practice at home during the fall. This program has a diagnostic test, modules for math, English and reading and three practice tests.

Step 3: Students will be invited back to Mater Dei on November 18, for a review with our Math Department Chair and Assistant Principal to review the Math and English sections.

Your student then will take the High School Placement Test next January 2027 or February 2027. 

The cost for this class is $150.00. 
**This fee does not cover the cost of the test in January or February. But, when you pay the application fee in the fall, it will cover your testing fee.

If you are not able to make it to the test, and just want to participate in the prep program, please sign up at the button below labeled HSPT Program. Your student will still receive the online program and can participate in our class on November 18, 2026.
