Freshman Retreat

Freshman Retreat: Honor. Glory. Love. (Required Formational Experience for All Freshmen)

At Mater Dei, retreats are an essential part of our students’ formation—both spiritually and personally. The Freshman Retreat is the first retreat in a four-year journey designed to guide our students toward deeper faith, stronger character, and a fuller understanding of their identity as Monarchs.

This one-day, off-campus field trip is required for all freshmen and centers on the core themes of Honor, Glory, and Love—the pillars of Mater Dei’s mission and Catholic identity. Through engaging talks, small group discussions, prayer, and community-building activities, students are invited to:

  • Reflect on God’s love within their own life

  • Explore what it means to live with honor and integrity

  • Learn how to glorify God through their actions and choices

  • Build meaningful relationships within the Mater Dei community

This retreat will be a powerful and memorable experience, helping students grow in faith, connect with their classmates, and lay a strong spiritual foundation for their high school years and beyond.
