The Visual Arts Department is proud to offer a comprehensive program in: Art History, Drawing/Painting, Ceramics and Digital Media/Photography. Students have the opportunity to advance through four levels of course work in all studio courses culminating in Advanced Placement Studio Art. Our students develop a rich appreciation for art history and tradition as well as developing studio art techniques. Students create art that is exhibited in the classroom, throughout the school and community. Each student enrolled in the visual arts exhibits his or her work in the Annual Mater Dei Art Show. Throughout the year students have the opportunity to submit works to competitions such as: Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, Imagination Celebration, Color it Orange, the California Art Education Association Youth Art Month Exhibition and the Laguna Arts Festival.
