Mater Dei Parent Education Series

Mater Dei’s commitment to holistic education extends beyond the classroom, encompassing the vital role that parents play in shaping the values, character, and academic success of our students. See session information below and RSVP form to note which events you plan to attend.

About: This session explores our witness to the importance of student wellness in our Catholic community as holistic educators.  We will overview the Be Well MD Curriculum delivered in our Religious Studies Classrooms and echoed throughout the school culture.

Presented by: Mrs. Jeni Dennin, Assistant Principal Catholic Identity and Formation and Mrs. Kendra Hart, Religious Studies Department Chair

About: This session will cover best practices and pitfalls for parenting in the world of social media and artificial intelligence (AI). We will discuss how Chat GPT and other large language models are disrupting education and what parents should know to support their children. We will also cover some tips and tricks for keeping your child safe in an online environment.

Presented by: Geri Campeau ’87, K-12 Education Leadership Executive, Apple Inc.

About: Financial literacy and wellness are one of the most important gifts you can give to your children. Join us for a session presented by Farmers & Merchants Bank (F&M Bank) where you will learn how to talk with your children about money and prepare them for a complicated financial world. You will leave with more confidence in approaching these conversations and a multitude or resources for your entire family.

Presented by: F&M Bank

About: The Eucharist is a sacrament in which the Church both receives the gift of Jesus Christ and gives grateful thanks to God for such a blessing. Through the Eucharist, we are sanctified and filled with faith, hope, and charity, enabling us to respond to God's gift and give thanks to the Lord for all His goodness. During this season of Thanksgiving, we will examine how we can lean on the Eucharist as an act of gratitude in our daily lives.

Presented by: Erin C.O. Barisano, Ed. D., Superintendent of Schools - Diocese of Orange

About: During this Advent Season, we invite you to pause and join in prayerful reflection on our Patroness, Mary, Mater Dei.  This evening will afford us the opportunity to grow in our understanding of the wonder of Mary through her Feast Days, the titles in which we honor her, and the stories of her in the Gospels. Please join us in this journey of growing to know and love our Blessed Mother during Advent.

Presented by: Mrs. Jeni Dennin, Assistant Principal Catholic Identity and Formation
