About:

Mr. Reynolds grew up in Minnesota and Wisconsin and that is where his interest in nature and science started from an early age. He loves to travel and explore the great outdoors of the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia. He has two grown sons that attended Mater Dei so he understands Mater Dei traditions and values from the perspectives as an MD Teacher and an MD supportive parent.

During the last two decades, Mr. Reynolds has designed and taught new classes in the Science Department in Marine Biology, Forensics and Robotics. He has also coached J.V. Golf Teams and previously served as the Science Department Chair for eight years at Mater Dei High School.

Mr. Reynolds is a member of the National Science Teachers Association and the National Association of Biology Teachers to keep up with trends and developments in the field, and to grow professionally. He is involved in the Amgen Biotech Experience (ABE) for an innovative science education program that empowers teachers to bring biotechnology to their classrooms. He also participated in the McGrath Institute for Church Life Capstone Seminar on Science and Religion at the Notre Dame Campus in Indiana during the summer of 2019. Through his Forensics instruction at Mater Dei, he was selected in 2019 to the FBI Citizen’s Academy in Orange County for community outreach in this field of Forensics.

This school year Mr. Reynolds continues to spark curiosity about science with his students. He enjoys helping students build science skills while inspiring them to succeed in their academics to be life-long learners. He loves providing the best possible biology and forensic science education for all of his students.

Mr. Reynolds enjoys an active lifestyle in Southern California with his wife Carolyn, their children, and three grandsons too! His hobbies include traveling, music, playing guitar, and being with family.
