Freshman Admissions Process & Application

Thank you for your interest in Mater Dei High School. Admissions online applications for the 2019-2020 school year is available now!

Mater Dei High School accepts and reviews applications on a rolling basis as space is available. You will not be considered for acceptance to Mater Dei High School until your online application is completed. The Application includes:

  • Application Fee of $75
  • Application
  • Parent Letter
  • Student Letter
  • Previous two years of grades (applying as a Freshman, we need all of 7th and 8th grade)
  • E-Recommendation Form from a current teacher, counselor or principal
  • Previous year(s) standardized test scores (i.e. IOWA, STAR, ITBS)
  • Copy of Birth Certificate, Passport and/or Green Card
  • Parish Verification Letter - (if student is Catholic) - Please take this form to your Parish Office. They will give you instruction on how they will return the form to Mater Dei. We will also accept a copy of your child’s baptismal certificate. This form is required to qualify for the Catholic Tuition Rate and must be received by February, 2019 if you are applying for need-based financial aid. For non-Catholic students, this will be used as an additional recommendation for your student; however, it is not required. 
  • Immunization Records
  • Tuberculosis (TB) and Pertussis (Tdap) Booster Form - Documented proof of tuberculosis (TB) testing dated after September 1, 2018 and Tdap mandated by State of California (booster needs to be dated within the past seven years).
  • Each Student must sit for the Entrance Exam (HSPT)
 
There are two different tracks for our Admissions process, Early Qualification and Rolling Admissions.
 
Early Qualification means that your student has been qualified for acceptance based on the grades and test scores you have provided. This is a conditional acceptance, as the student will need to sit for the Entrance Exam in order to complete the entire process.
 
Early Qualification Admissions Requirements: in order to be early qualified for the 2019-2020 school year, the following items must be completed by Friday, December 14, 2018.

-Teacher E-recommendation Form (current teacher, counselor or principal)

- 7th Grade transcripts

- 8th grade first trimester or quarter      grades

- Standardized test scores (ERB, IOWA,    STAR)

 

***In addition to completing these requirements, the student must sit for the Entrance Exam.***
  
 NOTE: Once the application has been completed, it will take about a week for the file to be reviewed.


The admissions checklist in the secure admissions portal is updated on a weekly basis. We encourage you to log into your account frequently with the user name and password you created when you completed the prospective student inquiry form. 

Notification of Final Acceptance
For those applicants who meet the December 13 deadline, the Admissions Committee will grant final acceptance after ALL required admissions paperwork has been received at Mater Dei and after the child has sat for the Entrance Exam. Entrance Exam test results will be mailed two weeks after test date.

 

FACTS Tuition Agreement and Registration (FINAL STEP) – April 2019

During this time, Mater Dei will send you information via e-mail to set up your tuition agreement through FACTS Tuition Management for the 2018-19 school year. You will also receive additional registration information to access our online student information system in order to finalize your child’s enrollment into the school.

This final step is imperative for freshman and transfer applicants to confirm that they will be attending Mater Dei High School in the fall. Should you choose not to enroll your child in the fall, we kindly request you let us know in writing at admissions@materdei.org during the tuition agreement and final registration process.
