Blackwell from Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, California will be playing for the West Team and was presented his All-American jersey by Sergeant Kernen and Sergeant Zeleya. Servite and Mater Dei high schools will now battle for the Mayor's Cup – after an agreement between the mayors of Anaheim and Santa Ana. The Catholic high schools have been arch-rivals for decades and now compete in the hotly contested Trinity League and in one of the state's toughest CIF divisions, the Pac-5. When the two teams first met in 1961, they were the only Catholic high schools in Orange County. This year's 50th meeting was held in front of a crowd of more than 15,000 at Angel Stadium.
