Mater Dei Football is a Tradition Rich, Nationally Acclaimed Football Power. Since the 1950s the Monarchs have dominated the high school football scene. Coach Bruce Rollinson '67, a former Monarch under the great Coach Dick Coury has guided the Monarchs since 1989. Under Coach Rollinson the Monarchs have compiled a 192-50-2 record. His teams have reached the CIF Division I finals eight times in the last 17 years, earning five championships and two national championships (1994 and 1996). There have been countless individual honors and numerous players have gone onto compete at the college and professional level. The Monarch football program was recognized by Student Sports Magazine as one of the top ten football programs in the nation.
