hi everyone my name is mrs. martian on the world languages department chair congratulations to all of you for almost finishing 3 years of the same or a language and I am here to encourage you to take that fourth one next year did you know that most if not all universities here in the United States like to see 3 years of the same language and student applicant of course you know that's why you've taken 3 however 1/4 year is free, it only shows how committed and dedicated you are to learning so your chances of getting into that dream school just get higher and higher so think about it listen to the options you have for next year old little for Chinese French Latin and Spanish courses concentrate or emphasize in communicating orally and in written form with vocabulary and grammar structures you have learned in the past and with a new want to be acquiring next year to decide for me ESL concentrates on linguistic and interpreting skills and on cultural storytelling nurse level four courses also emphasized on enhancing communication skills and most teachers will use English at the start of the year however the goal is to immerse most all students the expectation is to immerse all students in the target language at an accelerated after your progresses current level 3 in honors level 3 Chinese French and Latin students have two choices for next year to continue with the regular level four or to move on to honors-level level 3A so students have the only choice to move to regular level four Spanish level 3 in honors level 3 students have four choices to move on to Spanish honors Spanish 4 AP Spanish language and culture in AP Spanish Literature and culture goal of AP Spanish language and culture is to enhance communication skills with an emphasis on Speaking Rock listening in on promoting cultural awareness to prepare you for the AP test in May AP Spanish Literature and culture concentrate on reading passages from both Spanish and Latin American author as well as on writing and listening activities to prepare you for the test in May both of these AP courses the AP Spanish language and culture in the AP Spanish Literature and culture are we thought in Spanish it's time I like you to please complete the Google form following this presentation there is a link in which you will feel in your first and second choices for foreign language next if you are done with 3 years of a foreign language saying you simply choose I will not take a foreign language next year and you'll be done with that however I like to encourage you to continue with a fourth language if you're not sure make sure to ask your current level 3 or honors level 3 teacher for help or guidance and don't worry about your qualifications I will revise your second semester grades to see if you qualify for that appointment what you wanted to take next year so make your first and second choices please thank you so much for your time take care and God bless
