Annual Outreach Projects
Each year the Mater Dei Community sponsors a number of outreach projects to assist the less fortunate. The majority of these outreach projects, spearheaded by the students, benefit the local Santa Ana community and third world countries.

Two mainstays in Mater Dei's annual outreach are the Thanksgiving and Christmas outreach projects which benefit members of the Santa Ana Parishes. In addition, clubs, teams and other campus groups organize outreach projects throughout the school year. Some outreach projects include, collecting items such as, blankets, toiletries, socks, diapers and food for local organizations, organizing holiday parties for low income housing residents and volunteering at Catholic Worker. Campus groups have also hosted Halloween and Christmas parties for the children of Thomas Shelter, given baby showers to the young mothers at Casa Theresa and provided socks for local homeless people.

It is not only the students who are involved in these projects, parents, faculty, staff and alumni also contribute a great deal to the continued outreach projects at Mater Dei. Campus Ministry fosters a spirit of helping others that has allowed people near and far to benefit from continued generosity throughout the year.
