Performing Arts

The Performing Arts Department includes comprehensive Choral and Hand-bell, Instrumental, Theatre, Dance, and Pep programs. Our students develop a rich appreciation for artistic history and tradition as well as performance skills which are frequently exercised. Students sing, play, dance, and act, and run crew in a wide variety of educational, religious, competitive, and civic forums. Annual events include Scriptfest, Shortsfest, Shakespeare in the Grotto, Fall and Spring Plays, Christmas at the Corner, Madrigal Feast, Senior Musical, Dance Showcases, and our evening of Red Hot Jazz. Our musical and theatre groups excel at their adjudicated festivals and, each year, our award-winning Dance Team, Cheerleading Squad, and Song Team compete nationally.

We attribute our programs’ high visibility and success to the strongly classical and dynamic nature of our performing arts classes. Our faculty members are artistically proficient and accomplished, active in professional development, conducting national workshops as well as attending them. Ever mindful that some of our students, as adults, also will pursue their talents academically and professionally, we strive to cultivate each individual’s ability to its full potential. Many of our students are admitted to prestigious colleges, some of them receiving generous scholarships to continue their studies in music, theatre, or dance.

The Performing Arts Department is under the direction of Mr. Patrick Williams.
