About CSF

The California Scholarship Federation (CSF) fosters and appropriately recognizes high scholastic achievement.  Membership in the CSF, and particularly attainment of the Sealbearer status in the senior year, is an honor that is highly regarded. Mater Dei High School is proud to be chapter #496S of the California Scholarship Federation.

Since the inception of CSF, approximately 1,400 CSF chapters and 1,200 CJSF chapters have been approved. Today’s chapters continue to foster the recognition, motivation, and education of academically talented students. Chapter memberships promote the CSF/CJSF ideal of service to their communities.

Sealbearer Status

To earn Sealbearer Status a student must be a member of CSF for 4 semesters, and 1 of the 4 semesters must be from grades earned from first semester of senior year. Sealbearers will be given a gold chord that will be worn at the graduation ceremony and a seal will be placed on their diploma.
